An exceptional catalog designed by Marcel Duchamp for his first major museum retrospective.

The catalog spans the breadth of the artist’s output up to this point in his career, organizing work across 8 sections.

Each section is illustrated with images of his work alongside text literally ripped from a copy of Robert Lebel’s book on Duchamp and present in the form of torn fragments, to which the catalogue’s editor, Walter Hopps, added text in freehand script.

Catalog is in fantastic condition. Plastic outer sleeve shows no chipping or issues and catalog has no internal marks. Very rare in any condition, this copy is better than most.
