One of my favorite pieces of Haring ephemera I’ve handled recently. An exceedingly rare and important document of Haring’s support of local causes, NYC, and the AIDS crisis.

This brochure was produced to promote the return of Brent Nicholas Earle to NYC after running 10,000 miles across America to raise funds for AIDS research. A project that began in October of 1984.

Nicholson Earle started a not-for-profit called The American Run for the End of AIDS (AREA) to support his efforts.

The broschure details the celebration rally in Union Square Park, which Ed Koch attended as well as a party at The Saint.

Haring was a prolific supporter of NYC grassroots efforts and AIDS fundraising, hence his illustration being lent to support this cause.

Flyer is in great condition with minor staining to cover.
