Yoshiyuki was working as a commercial photographer and took a walk through Chuo Park in Shinjuku one night and noticed a couple on the ground with other figures around them. He tried to take a photo, but couldn’t because it was too dark.
He later returned with Kodak infrared flashbulbs, which allowed him to take photos at night. Throughout the 1970s, he returned to Chuo Park to photograph the couples along with the many voyeurs who hid in the park to watch.
A spectacular and singular photographic document. Tough to find. Fantastic reference.
