A truly outstanding collage by Ray Johnson sent to a close friend in the late 1950s.

The collage consists of a year calendar for 1903 pasted on top of a clipping from a phone book for listings of the name ‘Arp.’

Johnson wrote ‘Happy New Year, Ray Johnson’ along the left-hand side.

Ray Johnson’s collage work represents some of the most important work and is very rare.

The piece shows age-related wear and measures 7.5 × 4.5”.
