We love Ray Johnson here at Wrong Answer Global HQ.

This is a great piece of mail art from the artist who was a singular anomaly in the canon of art.

The 8.5 × 11” xerox features one of Ray Johnson’s signature bunnies and ‘JEAN SEBERG’S LETTERS TO RAY JOHNSON’ scrawled.

The verso features a faded photocopy image with 2 stamps - one of Ray Johnon’s Locust Valley address and another stating ‘Collage by Ray Johnson’.

The upper-right corner has a note to send to Douglas Davis at Newsweek. This is crossed out with the word “DONT” scrawled beside it in Ray’s hand.

Examples of Ray Johnson’s mail art are uncommon but examples with hand annotations from Ray Johnson, like this one, are much more scarce.
