Bruno Munari - Xerografia - First edition 1970
$1,250.00
This is a longtime favorite and a book that I’ve always wanted to handle.
This rare publication was produced by Rank Xerox to accompany an experimental photocopy lab installed within Italy’s pavilion at the XXXV Venice International Art Biennale in 1970.
It documents Munari’s experiments with the Xerox 914 machine, which he first began utilizing in his work in 1963, introduced with a quote from Marshall Macluhan on the democracy of ‘instantaneous publishing’. Prescient.
This represents a landmark in of emerging computer technology in art and a key aspect of Munari’s practice.
Rare, first edition.
