This is a wonderful early document of the early avant-garde performing arts scene in New York — a scene that, along with the arts scene, change the shape of the city.
James Waring was at the heart of the avant-garde scene in New York and one of its most important figures. Performances notably feature music by Richard Maxfield and Terry Jennings and set design by George Brecht.
I find that a lot of these early dance performance posters aren’t well designed. This is an exception - it looks great and would look damn good framed.
Rare.
