This poster is a great example of the prevalence of performance-based happenings and Conceptual Art in New York in the late 1960s, early 1970s.

World Works was the sixth iteration of ‘Street Works’, a performance series by Hannah Weiner, an influential and important (but overlooked) poet and artist. Operating often in the background in the NYC poetry and performance scenes, her impact played a big role in the development of these scenes and artists’ careers.
